CANCER RESEARCH UK RACE FOR LIFE
I was commissioned by Cancer Research UK to document a weekend of Race for Life events at Graves Park in Sheffield, where around 5,000 people took part in everything from a fairly civilised 10k run to the considerably less civilised Pretty Muddy obstacle course.

Working across the weekend, I was looking for the full story of the event: the scale and colour of thousands of people gathering together, volunteers and branded event spaces, the various indignities of crawling through mud and over inflatables, and, most importantly, the individual participants themselves — celebrating, laughing, exhausting themselves and, often, taking part in memory of somebody close to them.
