MARTHA AND MARY
In the Bible story, Martha and Mary were sisters who opened their home to Jesus as he travelled. While Martha cheerfully attended to her guests, Mary sat in quiet contemplation. Revd Sheridan James, a south-east London vicar, says she feels like both sisters in one body, forever torn between trying to emulate one at the expense of the other.
